Just in time for the holidays and holiday travelers, the TSA is getting slammed. This time in "Seven Reasons Why the TSA Sucks" on the satire website, Cracked.com.
You wouldn't think of Cracked when you think of debating security issues (well, maybe you would) but the article is being cited by some legit media sources and is being talked about everywhere.
Why did security expert and ex-Israeli airport security official Rafi Sela give an interview to Cracked? And why is an article on the TSA's many failures appearing on a website known more for debates on The Honey Badger and 10 Worst Plastic Surgeries of the Stars?
We e mailed Rafi Sela through his company AR Challenges and this is his response:
Thanks for your email.
In the Jewish tradition when one is very disappointed he starts telling jokes.
For the last 10 years I have tried to talk some sense in to the US government and industry and found out that the job market and Wall Street are more important then peoples' lives…..
So we decided to leave the US behind and work in Europe and the Far East.
The only luck you have is that the terrorists already disrupted travel to a degree that it cannot be worse and they do not need to do anything else....
Just so you know: your former Secretary of DHS has provided Rapiscan with a contract over $1B for the body scanner which are a hoax, do not add any security and are now taken out.
I'm tired of trying to fix your country if it does not want to be fixed…
I was interviewed by a journalist and gave permission to post it anywhere…..
hope this answers your question
Have a great holiday
